Gotta give it up to Boston Dynamics who, at the end of a difficult and downright abysmal year, came through with the perfect piece of content to usher us into 2021.

What makes this video great?

Robots are scary. Especially these. Do you remember that episode of Black Mirror with the killer dog? Do you see it now in this video?

To break that image and present their technology as something positive, the makers of this content piece chose the perfect song- Chubby Checker’s Let’s Twist.

Why does this work so well? It humanizes the most inhuman thing- robots. Let’s Twist is reminiscent of simpler times, of American Bandstand, dancing at weddings, and, well, it’s just downright fun.

And with 24+ million views, I’d say people agree.
